This website is being created under the direction of the non-profit Senior Hospitality Institute, an Illinois corporation dedicated to educating and serving Seniors.
Soon you will be able to use an easy-to-use map-based selection tool, based on a unique senior community classification system (developed by J. Keesey Hayward in 1999) to guide consumers in their search for their ideal place to retire. It is the first objective system based on measurable criteria.
The Senior Hospitality Institute is the natural outgrowth of a global industry paradigm shift from "care" to "service," and from a focus on "care of the elderly" to that of "service to seniors".
The term "Senior Hospitality" expresses the growing emphasis on hospitality services and hospitality-trained staff in all types of communities for Seniors. It also answers the need for a better industry label in order to attract a new generation of thinkers, leaders and innovators to the enormously rewarding field of Service to Seniors, which is, indeed, a pleasure!
